Thriving in spite of Chronic Pain
Many of us are living our lives with chronic pain, and if YOU are... you may be asking...
"Is it even possible to thrive with chronic pain?"
This is the question I have asked myself continually in my own personal journey. And, after numerous years of intense struggle... the answer revealed:
YES, thriving is still possible!
Chronic pain is largely under-diagnosed. Many of us have been and are on a search for relief and managing our lives somehow. Let's hit the bottom-line here... suffering physical chronic pain impacts all aspects of your life; physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual.
I open my heart to all of you suffering undiagnosed chronic pain... I see you.
In short, I incurred a blunt trauma abdominal injury that lead to unidentifiable and extensive nerve damage. After many appointments, countless diagnostic procedures, experimental nerve blocks, and on and on and on... medical professionals could do nothing for me except give me a squeaky clean bill of health. Of course, the clean bill of health I am absolutely grateful for!
The question remained, how can I live my life like this?
I really needed help, but I had to take it into my own hands.
Through personal research and small action steps I began gathering data and building awareness about the experience my body was having, what was happening in my mind, how much resistance I was having around this major life change, where all of my emotional wounds were, and how much the pain experience related to all of it.
The road traveled on this chronic pain journey has not been a straight line. There have been successes and set-backs, victories and temporary defeats. It's the engagement with the journey propelling me forward ~ thriving with a calmed nervous system, a sense of acceptance, a new life vision, and full on activation of amplified self-care.
While we all have our very own unique life experiences; the essential and personal life foundations that help us thrive can easily be swept out from under our feet with a life of chronic pain, sudden or not.
We need support, I had it and am so incredibly grateful! So now, I am paying it forward!
